I get really oily skin, its horrible. I don't know why i get it and i don't know how to prevent it either. I wash my face almost everyday with Dove soap and also exfoliate my face to prevent brake outs. I don't use many moisturisers because im scared it will make my skin worse, i used to use a moisturiser but it made my skin worse. I try to use oil free make up but it doesn't work and my skin gets just as oily when im not wearing make up. I tend to avoid touching my face alot because it sometimes makes me worse.
How can i get rid of my oily skin?

Don't exfoliate your face everyday - keep it to a maximum of 2-3 times a week as excessive exfoliating produces excessive oil.

Causes of Oily Skin

Heredity

Diet

Hormone levels

Pregnancy

Birth control pills

Cosmetics you use

Humidity and hot weather

Because of the hormonal shifts of adolescence, oily skin is common in teenagers, but it can occur at any age. In general, skin tends to become dryer with age. The flow of sebum or oil increases during adolescence and starts decreasing with age. During pregnancy and menopause, hormonal imbalances can also upset the oil balance and increase the activity of sebaceous glands.

Many people have skin that is oily only in certain areas and dry or normal in others, a condition known as combination skin. to help your skin use oilbased products and wash once a day too much can stimulate the skin and use hot water rather than lukewarm or cold water. use a pure soap or antibacterial. dont use cleansers or lotions with alchohol and use an oil free moisturiser. exfoliate your face once a week and use a clay mask and or a clarifying face mask once a week. for makeup use mineral make up you can get mineral foundation ,powders and eyeshadows even eyeliners.and use an antisceptic day cream before applying your makeup [look for benzyl peroxide in the list of active ingredients] Natural Skincare

Half an hour before taking your bath apply on your face half teaspoon each of lime and cucumber juice mixed together.

If your skin is excessively oily, mix in a few drops of eau de cologne. This not only helps keep oiliness away but also helps in refining the pores of the skin by acting as astringent, thereby preventing acne.

To prevent the problem of your makeup becoming patchy either on the forehead, chin or nose due to excessive oiliness in these areas, apply a little cucumber juice on the excessively oily parts of your face, dry thoroughly and then apply your makeup.

If your whole face turns patchy after makeup is applied on it, then apply equal parts of lime juice and witch-hazel. Dry well before putting on your makeup.

Choose an astringent that contains acetone, which is known for dissolving oil. Strong astringents will do more harm than good, stimulating an overproduction of oil.

To clear away excess oil, use a clay or mud mask. Blend together well 1 teaspoon green clay powder and 1 teaspoon raw honey. Apply the mixture to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave it on for fifteen minutes, then rinse well with lukewarm water. Do this at least three times a week--or more.

Once or twice daily, mix equal parts of lemon juice and water together. Pat mixture on your face and allow it to dry, then rinse with warm water. Follow with a cool-water rinse. and also take evening primrose oil as a suppliment, and drink plenty of water.

Natural cares for oily skin

Wash your face with cold water as often as you can.

Apply Aloe Vera gel for 5 to 7 times daily. It refreshes and cools your skin.

You can take one leaf of the Aloe Vera plant and slit it. Then with its pulpy side gently massage your face for 5 minutes and leave it for ½ an hour. Wash it with cold water and pat some rose water on your face.

Keep alcohol wipes for quickly touching up your face when you go outside. You can also use some rubbing alcohol or a combination of it with acetone (found in such products as Liquid Cleanser and Seba-Nil).

Ground some almonds and mix honey in it. Now, lightly massage this mixture onto your face with a soft muslin cloth. After 3 or 4 minutes, rinse your face with cold water.

Mix uncooked oatmeal with Aloe Vera and massage similarly. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse it thoroughly. But do not try these scrubs if you are suffering from acne.

Make a paste of fuller's earth with water or buy a clay masque and apply all over your face. Wash your face with tap water after it dries off.

Do not apply any cream or moisturizer on your face at night as your skin needs to breathe. You can rub it with some ice cubes before going to sleep. These vitamins are of major importance when a person needs to reduce the excess amount of oil from the skin and prevents the formation of skin acne.

Oily skin is a result of fluctuating hormones, occurring mostly at teenage. The sebaceous glands are responsible for secreting oil to lubricate the skin. Any hormonal change will stimulate the action of sebaceous gland that will produce more oil than required. This production of excess oil turns the skin oily and results in the formation of acne, caused by when high level of oils block the skin pores.

Oily skin can also be caused by hereditary, pregnancy, unsuitable diet, birth control pills and prolonged use of cosmetics.

Excess of heat and humidity also tends to stimulate the activity of sebaceous glands, resulting in excess skin lubrication.

The positive side is that vitamins or multivitamins can help to reduce the action of sebaceous gland. Numerous benefits of vitamins are known for achieving a healthy, young and glowing skin.
